OpenType (CFF): the preussTYPE standard
Mac PostScript: Requires Adobe Type Manager
on all Mac versions prior to OSX.
PC PostScript: Requires Adobe Type Manager on
all Windows versions prior to 2000.
PC TrueType (TTF): The native font format for
Windows.
Interchanging PostScript & TrueType versions of the same font is not recommended, as each format has different ways of handling vertical line spacing, among other things.
Because of this preussTYPE prefers the OpenType format (CFF).
This format can be used without problems on the two platforms. The result
is same everywhere.
