for preussTYPE's CFF OpenType fonts
Windows
- PC using a Pentium™ processor
- Microsoft Windows™ 95, 98, ME, NT 4 (with Service Pack 4), Windows
2000 or Windows XP, Windows Vista 32 or 64 and Windows 7
- ATM Light 4.1 (not required for Windows 2000, Windows XP or Vista)
- If using a PostScript printer on Windows 95/98/ME, AdobePS printer driver
4.3 or later is recommended.
- If using a PostScript printer on Windows NT4, AdobePS printer driver
5.1.2 or later is recommended
- 16 MB of RAM (32 MB recommended)
NOTE: W2K, Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 provide native
support for OpenType .otf fonts (as well as PostScript™ Type 1 fonts)
and do not require ATM Light or the Adobe PS printer driver.
Macintosh
- Macintosh with PowerPC™ processor
- Mac OS 8.6 through Mac OS 9.1, or Mac OS X
- ATM Light 4.6 (4.6.2 for Mac OS X Classic)
- ATM updater to 4.6.1a/4.6.2a, if using AdobePS 8.8 or later
- 16 MB of RAM (32 MB recommended)
- If using a PostScript™ printer, the latest AdobePS printer driver
is recommended.
NOTE: Mac OS X provides native support for
CFF OpenType .otf fonts (as well as PostScript™ Type 1 fonts) and does
not require ATM Light for use with native and carbon applications. Applications
running in Classic mode in Mac OS X still require ATM Light.

Known Incompatibilities
The following applications will fail to properly show PostScript (CFF) flavored
OpenType fonts.
- Adobe® Dimensions® 3
- Illustrator® 7 and 8 (versions 9 and 10 work)
- Photoshop® 5.0 (versions 5.5 through 7 all work)
- Adobe® PhotoDeluxe® 1-3
- ImageReady™ 1.0 (version 2 and 3 work)
- Acrobat® 4.00 (version 4.05 and 5 work fine, but text featuring extended OpenType characters may not copy and paste correctly or be searchable, depending on how the PDF was generated)
- Microsoft Word® 2000 & XP (Windows NT/2000/XP): Microsoft Word's "Insert Symbol" function does not recognize OpenType CFF fonts as having extended character sets, but only shows the current codepage.
- Microsoft Word X (Mac OS X): Some OpenType fonts may not type into a Word document correctly.
